Stupid question about which is which?

Hey so I have a 1999 323IS and I have read places that the 99 is a e46 and not a e36...and I have read the opposite so which one is it?



Also I noticed the other day that there was a wire the looked ripped in half under the bumper on the passenger side like a sensor used to be there any ideas? It was green and black.

There was still e36s in '99.

OP, if your front end looks like the one in my sig, it's a e36; if not, it's a e46.

In 1999, the coupes, sedans, and convertibles were still E36. Only the sedans were E46 in 1999.
