Stupid Question

First off i would like to say hello. I am looking into purchasing a 1992 318is with 60000(ish) on it. It has a new stereo system with a dvd player, and it looks like it has a body kit(with rims) to look like a m3. Would 5500 be a good deal for it? And another stupid question, is it rear-wheel drive? I dont know too much about bmw's so any info would help.

thats fairly expensive for a 318is
and yes its a rear wheel drive, if i was you i would be looking more for the 6 cylindar range, owning a 1994 bmw 318i just not happy with performance

Well, anything is expensive to me right now(shakes fist at school) ghead would there be any preformance upgrades that i could possibly put into it. And what kind of gas mileage should i be getting?

i cant really say milage because i work on k's "australian" and our road conditions and everything like that is different. With the 318i there is no real bi performance upgrades that arnt worth your cars total value, and to put a 6 cylindar in it down the track is to pricey. Looking for a 328i or a 325i e36 that would be the best buy. Im not to sure with pricing either but to wat i have read 5,500 is alot for that car

But you should be looking around 500 miles per tank if your a reasonable driver

I'd shop around more - I got my 93 325is w/ 90k miles in immaculate condition and all service records for $5200.

Is it a manual or auto, that plays a factor in mpg. A 92 318i even with low mileage at $5500 is a bit steep. Also, the 318 is a bit weak on power.
I'd offer $4K . But I'd rather have an inline 6 , and so will you. Even with my 328i I am thinking about power mods :P

thats very low mileage for that car - are you sure that it's genuine mileage

either that or it was previously owned by someone who just never drove it
