Hello all, i've recently purchased a cosmos cai and some how found out that there is another company, cosmo, that produces cai for a good price as well. Anyways, i went to the cosmoracing.com website and found these strut tower braces, tell me what you think.....
i have no idea what it is made of but i will email them and let you know and see if you think it is good enough, i'm really just comparing them tho, i like the style but if the quality isn't good then i will go with a diff brand.
Originally posted by CosmosRacing.com@Jul 5 2005, 02:10 PM They are made by lightweight aluminum, the tower plates are billet aluminum made. Very high quality part.
That design for a strut brace is shitty. The concept of the brace is that it is not flexible. Ideally the bar should be solid and welded to the chasis. Those folding whatevers are either end are worthless and I doubt you will get much help from those braces.

thanx, so what kind of braces would you suggest? I like the design, but if it is not very efficient then i won't mind avoiding them. Any suggestions for a fair price?
Something that is a solid bar and only connects to the chasis. The car shouldnt flex or have hinges on it. I'm not too sure what brands to look for, but they are out there.
I'm sure someone else will post with a good brand.

I highly recommend the Strong Strut brace. I installed one one my car a few weeks ago, and the difference was tremendous. This is a hingeless design, and a very, very solid hunk o' metal. It's not cheap ($385), but you get what you pay for. Go to www.strongstrut.com.

I have been looking at front strut braces and it almost seems stupid to pay 300 bucks for a front brace. I am wondering if I could talk to my buddy who works in a fab shop and have him weld me up one. Seems like a little creativity and enguinity could yield a nice custom piece.

oh yeah, you could definitly make a nice peice, i also have connections with a machinist. He made my clutch stop actually, really easy and all i know but he made it look really good! not that it mattered a whole lot since no one can ever see it, but you know. I have considered having him make me one, but i think a polished alloy brace would be alittle more pleasing to the eye. But if you wanted to make your own you could definitly make sure it is strong and buff! I kinda want a polished one thats brand name just to add to my car, because whether your custom peice is made well or not, it will never get as much respect as a good name brand peice would. Just a fact, like my custom clutch stop doesn't sound too impressive, but if i had a UUC clutch stop or some other brand then it sounds alittle hyped up, ya know. But by all means make your own, i'd like to see it when it's finished if you do make your own. Best of luck!
I may go with the plain looking one in bavauto since its a one peice and fairly cheap, but it doesn't look all that impressive to me. Still thinking on it. I saw the "strong" ones too, they are nice but still just not what i'm looking for, anyone have any other suggestions?
