Yes...I know my camera rules....you can stop now..
Anyway, um, question, as some of you may know, I am rebadging my 328 to M52. Yes yes, in with the new, out with the old. The question IS, do I leave the stripes on the M, or take them off? I was looking at autotechnic's car, and I noticed that there isn't much color back there. No offense Auto, your car singlehandeldy convinced me to rebadge in the first place, and it looks awesome, I think it would just look nice with some more color.
Interesting.... I was thinking of rebagding mine M28 in the spring once I finish all mods (since then it would techically put more to the wheels then a stock M3, but at the same time still technically be a 328)
I think:
BMW owners---> would like it and totally understand it.
Non-BMW owners---> will think your a punk for rebadging your car to be an "M" (thats what I used to think before I bought a bimmer at least )
To do list:
Suspension--- researching
UUC System U TDM- 3/05
M50 manifold converstion 3/05
off to the tuning shop for custom software 4/05
Cams/lightened flywheel, throttlebody........ well lets see what happens
dont use the ///m colors, then people will think it is an ///m, i thought you were opposed of it? The average joe would think that your car with m3 side panels and full m3 body kit is an m3, especially if you put ///m52 or even just m52...i guess if that is really what you have your heart set on doint I would forget the ///

i agree that you need to chop off the stripes, id be lying if i said otherwise. stripes = you need to give us your shoes. no stripes = only option

oh yah, also just thought up, you have no color back their right now anyways and it looks fine, so why would you need the color now... id say loose the stripes to make it a more "factory look"

The stripes look better in the same way a "Type-R" badge looks better on a non-Type-R integra. Seriously, I know it looks better because it's more colourful, but it honestly makes you seem like a poser. Everytime I see an ///M badge on a BMW I stop beside the owner of the car and chuckle, that's just me I guess. To you, it might make sense seeing as how you've got the M3 body package. However, to the people around you, you would look like a poser. I have almost all the parts from an actual Euro E36 M3 except for the engine (shocks, springs, sways, bushings, flywheel, gear lever, body, x-brace, headlights, etc etc), I'd still feel like a poser in the end. Infact, I don't even like the fact that my M3 side door moldings says "///M". I'm looking to replace them with the BMW MotorSport International badge.
In the end I guess it all boils down to what you like. But my personal opinion is to take the stripes out. I know someone who blacked out the stripes. But that also kind of makes the colour plain. The original badge had no colour either, no need to make everything flashy, just plain and unsuttle.
Oh yeah, BITER!!!!!!! LOL, j/k
