I have a strange rattle coming from the rear wheel on the passenger side - I seem to have isolated it to that metal plate/cover that is behind the rotor - has anyone ever encountered this?
I have a strange rattle coming from that area too, except it sounds muffled - like rubber or something. Only when I go over bumps, and it's not my tire rubbing.

That is exactly what it sounds like -
Cruzin - I wonder what kind of crap it could have been - I just changed the rotors like 10K ago...

I have the same thing. Sounds like a tin can when going over bumps. I also think it's the metal plate behind the rotor. Anyone know if this is the dust shield? The last car I had the dealer tore them off & said they are not needed & they usually rust off.
Check the springs on the hand brake. You have to remove the rear brake disks to inspect this so you might as well replace the pads while the disks are out.

Originally posted by RIBEMR26@Aug 12 2005, 02:30 PM Im going to pull the rotor off again and take a look around - thanks for the help fellas - i really do appreciate it!
