i went under my car today and i found that everything on the front half of my car is covered in some sort of oily black sandy stuff. i tried getting it off but if anyone could tell me what it is?

oil most prolly have a leak in the oil pan and the sand stuff is proly juss dirt from under the car

Spray some engine degreaser (or Simple Green) and clean with water.
After a day or so later, look under with a work light, you should be able to see where the leak is coming from. Could be many things....
Power steering fluid,
transmission fluid (trans fluid is routed to the radiator for trans cooler),
Oil (from pan, or drain plug, or from the oil filter canister, etc.)
