Steering Wheel Upgrade! Best Sports Wheel for the E36? (judge pictures) - BMW Forum

Okay, I'm really in turning my 318i in an ALPINA car...I was looking to upgrade my steering wheel (since it's getting old and worn at the thumb holds)
What do ya'll suggest?

Leave it stock?

Second one is the most popular choice for a upgrade past our worn out pieces... but if your trying to stick with the Alpina theme... get the Alpina...

You forgot the four-spoke M3 steering wheel. Looks similar to the stock four-spoke, but it has the little thumb indent areas on the rim, and tricolor stitching in the M colors.

With my driving style I preffer the four spoke... but that has little to do with aesthetic style...

oo thats a tough one man..

I dont think the last wheel is an alpina or w/e, im pretty sure it was a sport option in europe to have that wheel.. not sure though.

The 2nd wheels is def. the best looking imo, and it came off the late model e36 M3's.. they arent cheap either, i havent seen any go for less than 450-500.

basically i think i would get the last wheel because, it is cheaper, still looks really good, and also it looks like it would be lighter and more fun to drive with than the e36 M3 wheel.

Also.. the 2nd wheel is OBDII, so you would have to mess around with the wiring alot, where as im retty sure the 3rd wheel is OBDI so it should bolt right up and plug in w/ no problems.

I kno zeaq has a nice 3 spoke wheel in his car, so if you see this, post a pic zeaq..

$450-500? esta en serio...I didn't know they were that steep. If thats the price, you could get a really nice aftermarket wheel.

yeah theyre mad expensive.. theyll prolly come down in a year or so though, everything e36 M3 related has been..

I'd go for the third one.
I didn't know that stitching was m-colored on the wheel for the m3... I saw the colored stitching and I thought it was just a trick of the light... now I'm going to have to take a closer look.

yeah, the stitching is blue purple and red.

Yea... over time it gets dirty... take some carpet cleaner... not a lot... but take a tooth brush and some of the cleaner... and it will brighten it up a lot...

Any one want a used M3 4 spoke?... I'm about to install my Momo one...
