Steering wheel help!!

Hello, I just bought a 1997 bmw 328i convertable for a cheap price but it has some problems with it. First the power steering wheel only works when i turn the wheel clockwise (right) and doesn't work when i turn it counter-clock wise (left) so when i turn to the left its really hard and stiff. Im not sure why the power steering only kicks in when i turn right. I checked the power steering fluid and that's full. not sure what else to check.

Welcome to Bimmerwerkz. Congrats on your new car. Any leaks? How are the hoses? Did the belt slip off the power steering pulley? Try getting a friend to turn the wheel while you listen to the pump.
