as above going to attempt to fit this wheel i purchased and recieved today


what is the safest way to remove the airbag?
do i disconnect the battery and leave for a while to discharge the power to the airbag,just dont want my nose in the back of my head,bmw refused to do the job for me so its gonna be a diy job,any help gratefull :wink

I'm not possitive so I don't want you to die because I said disconnecting the battery will disarm the airbag. So consider this a free bump.

P.S. BMW can't install it for you because it's illegal to remove an airbag from a car that supposedly came standard with it. The government would get on their ass so bad if they installed it for you.

pmsl its ok m8ty i wont come back to haunt you,i promise,so is it only ilegal to remove the airbag if your a main dealer or ilegal altogether?
still gonna take it out regardless,i will take 3 changes of clean underwear with me cos i will be shi***** myself lol

Yeah it's just a violation of all the safety regulations and etc the car originally has to pass before it gets sold. So long as the insurance company doesn't find out about it cause I think having an airbag lowers your premiums a tad.

yea forgot about the insurance thing ghead think i might just put it into a garage to be done,anyway dont think i have enough underwear to complete the job lol
