Steering Wheel exchange

Hi, love the fourm and I have a question concerning the steering wheel in 1992-1994 BMW's.. Is it possible to take the steering wheel off on 3 series models from those years and put on the new style they came out with in 1995? I'd like to do this because, personally I think those newer steering wheels look very classy. Thanks, dave

get urself a glossy color bmw badge and put it on the older ones and i think it'd look the same. earlier landrovers had the same deal. the new landrovers had the color logo's on. i dunno about switching the whole wheel out tho.

Should be able to be done, but personally I'd go for the late model M3 3-spoke if I were to put the effort in.

I wouldnt simply put something over the old badging on the steering wheel if the airbag deplots it would be something to hit you in the face and cause futher damage to you.

the steering wheel doens't hit u in the face. it swings out of the way and the airbag comes out. i'd go for an e46 one also tho

but if something is on the wheel thats not part of the wheel/airbag and between you and the air bag it could hit you.

It won't matter he most likly will have his eyes closed anyway.

Back to my question though, will swapping steering wheels be mroe hassle then its worth? any estimated costs?
