Last night, as I came home from work, I noticed a wierd clicking noise coming from
my steering wheel. It happens as you turn the wheel slightly form side to side. Not
much movement is required, just a jiggle will do it. Horn works fine, as do the blinkers which cancel fine. Anybody experience this?
Actually ive experianced like rust noises when i turn my streering wheel as well(92 325i), only when im turning going 5mph or less, any more speed and its ok,regarding your problem there is a rubber piece behind your wheel it might have started wear or it might also be there steering lock...dnt quote me though
The most common reasons a clicking noise such as yours would happen is either a column bearing or the slip ring. Most likely the bearing though. How many miles and what year is it?

My car is a 1994 325i with 55k. Very clean, low mileage car, but still has occasional issues because of the age. Thanks to youz guyz for the snappy repliez.
The sound is coming from behind the wheel, but sound like it is in front of the column. Something with the interface. The snap ring idea sounds feasible.
I am having the same steering wheel problem. I believe it is a steering column bearing located on the upper column just below the steering wheel. Do you know if this is correct??
There's a tow contact for the horn. When the cupper grease on it is too dry the little peg makes a noise you've heard. Remove you're steering wheel and make sure it is greased.
