does anyone know if the e46 steering wheel is compatible with the e36? i want to change my regular stock wheel but would like to have more options than the m3 wheel. or will the steering wheel from other model fit too?
thats good to know also. my leather interior, with the exception of my seat is in brilliant condition. i did put a thread on here asking if anyone knew what engines i could replace my 2.8i with. 325i e36 engine ir the 330i/328i e46 ones with the twin vanos. ideally no modifications to fitting is quite important. but if they need it, well , it they need it.
going to do my car as a project. basically needs new front wings and bonnet and tailgate and few bits of rust sorting. it will eventually be fitted with the mtec kit too which i gather apart from the compacts, is pretty universal across the e36's.
I have a 98 328i, similar to yours, and if you can find it an S52 is a better drop in engine. The M54/S54 will fit, but requires more work to make it fit. The S52 is a direct bolt in to the factory mounts. You will need the DME and possibly the wiring harness from any engine you drop in.
The M-Technik front bumper was an available option on the E36 so a few had it But not alot. It's Definitley a nicer option. I have one on mine. Gives you more options for different lip styles. ECS Tuning has the full M-Technik kit with front and rear bumpers and side skirts for $550. Great deal as sourcing them individually would be close to $1,000. Won't help much since your overseas though.
cool. well thats the m sport rear bumper sorted. speaking of interchangeable parts, do all the wing mirrors fit all models? coupe/saloon/touring? just noticed the main metal bit on mine has a crack. dang it!!
