Starting issues on my e36...

Hi ya'll,

Just got her (1994 325 convertible) from a friend (reliable) who has the receipts for a brand new battery and a brand new starter.

However, I'm chillin' around 70MPH on the freeway the other day and she just shuts off on me and hasn't started up since. I towed her to my mechanic and he says he needs to open up the dash and check the wiring and that'll cost me 300 bucks (US).

Sounds like much to me. Any suggestions?

PS: I drove through about 4-5 inches of rainwater on my way out the neighborhood and I ride WAY lower than most e36. Maybe that'll help a little...

Question, do you have a long ram Cold Air Intake.....? If so, you could of sucked up a lot of water into your engine, if not......it
could be a faulty camshaft sensor.....but I would check all your fuses 1st, check every fuse with a 12 volt test light, ignition key on.......Camshaft position sensors are prone to cause hard starting & stalling conditions....
