Starter Problems

Ask about this before but i got a dude to pull the starter off an he said the starter an the siolniod was good, damn this shits gonna be costly. he said he was gonna run sumthing to the starter to give it more power i think.An hopefully that will work, but everytime i try to start it you can hear sumthing spining but wont crank until i turn the key like 10 times. anybody else ever have problems like this?

I've been having similar problems but I don't hear any spinning. It took me an hour to get her going last week. I've changed the ignition switch and I haven't had a problem yet. However I do experience a delayed starter, I hold the key in the start position for two seconds and then the starter engages.

You may want to check your battery and the posts and the wires leading from the battery. Cleaning the contacts on the starter should have alread been done if your guy already pulled the starter. The wires leading to the starter should be checked as well.

thats been happening to me recently, as soon as i hear it, i turn the key off, and then restart it. it catches it the 2nd time. will have my mechanic look at it next week, and i'll let u know what he says. used

If you are hearing something turning then normally that means that the starter is working but it's not engaging with the flywheel, the starting motor cog isn't being pushed out. It's the solenoid, if that is the case, because it's the solenoid's job to push the cog in the starter motor onto the flywheel, thus turning the whole engine over instead of just the starer motor free spinning.
