If you drive your bmw with a bad flex coupler what will happen over time?

it will get worse and worse.

so, when it just starts, the car only shakes at maybe 5k rpm.. then it will shake if u accelerate rapidly to like 4k rpm then 3k, then eventually ur screwed.. it will shake thew hole time


dont let it get that bad

Most likely it could put some unwanted stress on the transmission output with all that slapping around. For 40 bucks you should replace it.

I ordered it and ill have it in by this weekend. Is it a hard thing to do yourself?

Not too bad. It goes pretty quick once you get enough force on the bolts. There's a good write up at pelicanparts.com

its very simple, especially when u have dont it many times.. not the guibo itself.. but stuff that requires the same first step.

drop the exhaust, then the heatshield, then the center drive shaft support, ( i think thats what its called) then there guibo, there are nuts on the back by the way..

and while ur there replace ur center bearing
