Stalling Question - BMW Forum

I have an issue with my 328i, when I let out the clutch in first or reverse I have to goose the accelerator to keep from stalling. Now I haven't driven a 5 speed for several years, so maybe I just need more practice at it, but it is frustrating and I am wondering if it could possibly be an issue with the car rather than an issue with the driver

Is there a way to determine if the car is working properly?

If you're used to a manual car with more low end torque, this is normal. That is, if you're not having to rev it up a lot.

maybe practice a little more and get back to us.. MAybe drive another car with a manual and see if you have the same problem. Might not be one ? =/ GL

I am getting better at driving this car, it's still a little tricky on hills because the car seems to idle really low (500rpm), and the clutch lets out all of a sudden, so I have to work quickly to get my foot off the brake, onto the gas but not too hard, and get the clutch to the sweet spot. On other cars I've driven there is a lot more distance the clutch travels between when it begins to let out and when it is fully out.
