This may have been something already asked before ,I have searched but didnt find anything but that doesnt mean it hasnt been asked. If this has been asked im sorry.
My 235I seems to be stalling or wanting to stall during the heat of the day or sometimes during the afternoon.
Some mornings when its 81 degree's outside and it doesnt quite cool down at night it does the same thing.
Stalls check engine light comes on.
I can kind of pump the gas peddle sometimes when this happens and it will prevent it from stalling......but if I just come to a complete stop most of the time it stalls.
I have been told it could be a number of things.
Like sensors. Today I took it to have it put on a computer to give us some info and they coudnt get much out of it. they asked me to leave it over night so they could get some info out of it more in the morning but its my mode of transportation right now. Saturday im taking it back so they can work more with it.
What do yall think ???????
the guy said possibly the mas airflow sensor but he doesnt want to say thats it and it not be it.
Find a shop that specialize in that year of BmW ask them about your problem, ask if you can speak to the mechanic, and explain in detail, write done any information that can asisst the mechanic, like When if happens, hot, cold at certain temp, times, consistant , randomly, when it started, how long ago to me is could be many things, EVAP system, pressure lock ? mostly stalls engine when hot, Sensor going out of range when hot, causing rich/lean conditions...
Mass Air flow sensor > there are tests for that, you need a scanner, information how to test it, and specification info.... otherwise the mechanic is just guessing!
Good Luck

Please use the forum to let everyone know what the car needed. Stalling seems to be a common BMW problem with a variety of answers (poor gas, water in fuel, fuel pump, fuel filter, camshaft sensor, poor/loose connections, etc.). Does your car backfire too? Does it run better when the gas tank is at a particular level? Does it stall while driving? Gas cap can play a role in CEL (check engine light).

No it does not backfire and the Gas im using shouldnt be the problem because im using it in my other cars as well and nothing going wrong there.
