SRS Light

My E36 has a SRS light that stays on for ~ 90 seconds after starting. I will replace the seatbelt latch sensor eventually, but does anybody know if the airbag will still deploy in a crash? Although light stays on for 90 seconds, does turn off and stay off after that period.

This is not a question anybody in here should answer. The airbag system is a very precise mechanism and you want it to do its job. Don't take the word of anyone in here if your life is going to depend on it.
If you have a doubt then I seriously advise having a qualified mechanic check the airbag system. Better safe then sorry.

The latch sensor will give this symptom if it is faulty. Replace the sensor and then look at the airbag system if that did not solve the issue. It would be irresponsible to give a definitive answer of 'yes, your airbag will deploy so don't worry'

yeah theres no way to check it might might not you never no you couldnt guarantee a brand new 850'z airbag would go off just hope for the best i dont think you can check them either

check under neath your seat to make sure the wires to your sensor didnt wiggle just loose enough to trip the "srs light"... more the less someone just moved thier seat aroudn and thats why thier light is on...
