I have a 328is with ACS (auto.. I'd rather have a 5-speed but the deal was too good to pass up)
As for SPORT..... they do have a sports package that was an option on the IS (probably the I's too)
I went with the sports package, but am sorta questioning that decision now that I am considering an aftermarket suspension.
As for finding out whether your 328is is equipped with the sports package.... people here have suggested that the lux sets define the sports package.... someone posted the actual manufacture code that you can compare it too somewhere in these forums.
To do list:
Suspension--- researching
UUC System U TDM- 3/05
M50 manifold converstion 3/05
off to the tuning shop for custom software 4/05
Cams/lightened flywheel, throttlebody........ well lets see what happens
Sport package has the 16" wheels too, not 15". The luxury seats are not sport package the "sport" seats are. Higher bolsters and moving thigh support piece. As for suspension, I am not sure. I ahve heard both.
i have a 328i with the sports package. It comes with a different suspension, sports seats, 16'' rims, not sure about anything else, maybe the body-kit is also different?

I still haven't figured out the usefulness for those thigh supports for myself. Anyone use them?
Sport packages did not come with LSD's on the 328's. Usually included a slightly tighter and lower suspension, 16" alloys wheels, and seats. I was pretty disappointed with my sport package, but it's slightly better than the normal setup. My car was a Canadian issue, so I also got some extra goodies, like the 3spoke Msteering wheel, and an M shit knob. You could also get other optional stuff to add on.
In the meantime, I've switched out my "sport" suspension: dinan springs and koni sa's.

Considering: tms shark,M 17" wheels, larger sway bars.

I use them all the time, but Im 6'2 so its much more comfortable with them out.
I bought a 97 328is last may. It has all the stuff the guys mentioned above. I looked around for an is only because I wanted the sport seats.
Other than that, it doesn't make much sense to pay extra money for a sport suspension if it has more than 75K miles on it. It's just going to need to be replaced anyways.
The moral of the story is don't pay more for the sport suspension if it has a lot of miles. It's just not cost effective.
