| Sporadic Heat... Any Ideas? Last week, my blower motor suddenly stopped working. It wasn't too cold out, so I planned to fix it this weekend. Then, on Friday, the thing started working again after I hit a small canyon in the road. Worked fine until this morning. No blower, and it was booger-freezing cold out. I can't wait for tomorrow morning.
Obviously, there's a bad connection somewhere. I pulled the heater switch, cleaned it up the best I could, added a little dielectric- still no blower motor. Then, it started working when I hit a bump this evening. When I turned off the car, I restarted it just to see- no blower again. Arrgh!
The next obvious move is to pull the blower motor, which looks like a total pain in the arse. I may just replace it anyway, due to some bearing noise when it is working.
My question is, are there any other parts I should be looking at? Do these cars have a porcelain resistor in the heating circuit somewhere that might've cracked? Any other thoughts or ideas? Thanks. |
