Speedometer And Mpg Stopped Working

Last night I started my car and let it warm up for about 5 minutes since it was 20 degrees out in MA. Then I go back outside and back up and start to drive down the street and reliezed my Speedometer and MPG Stopped working! Has this ever happened to anyone else ever? I also noticed now my cruise control stopped working also. But my RPMs and Gas gauge and temp still work. I have a feeling the cable isnt snapped because last night i got my speedo to work by messing around with some of the bottons for the windows. It stopped working this morning. Can someone pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssseeee help me?

Check all the fuses even if you did it once.
You can also try to take out the battery for a few minutes.
Look in the engine room if you don't have any melted wires.
Check all the wires that go to the ECU on the left side of the car (looking from the front)

This might sound alittle weird but i lifted my e-brake up and then it started to work again..

Sounds like you car is haunted....

I'm sure the BMW dealership can't wait for you to bring it in . They'll make you pay...


But seriously try to fix it yourself! Pull your guages out (follow the DIY page here) and check to see that your plugs are all snapped it. It sounds like a specific problem if one side is working and the other isn't. Each thing has its own plug behind the tachyometer. check it out.
