Speed Signal For My Sat Nav

Hi ,
I was wondering if you guys could help me:
I have 1999 E36 318 Convertible. I want to install a SAT NAV. It requires a speed signal from my car. Can anybody tell me
where do i get that from? Is it under the rear seat from speed sensor?
or is it from ECU?
What colour cable is it? how do i identify it?

ANy advise is welcome. Your help will be appreciated

Chances are with a car that new the speed signal is going to broadcast over the CAN line and distributed accordingly. The only way to tell which WIRE your CAN is to look on an ETM.
