Somebody Help

Ok, so I have a 95 325i with 158k and a 5-speed. The car is in great shape and all but runs perfect. My problem is that during accerlation, I will get what seems like lag in first gear. This doesnt happen all the time, but often enough that i think there is something a little off. I also get spurts of power when shifting through the rest of the gears. Ill get on it and the tach will rise, but the car doesnt always accelerate smoothly. It seems like an air, fuel, or spark issue, but i run premium, changed my fuel filter, have a new k&n air filter, and just put bosch platinum 2's in it. I did hear, however, that it may be a bad idea to put these plugs in a high mileage car for fear of foul out. Any truth? What do you guys think? Maybe a sensor? Bad plugs? Something more serious? Thanks for your help

My car does the same thing, people have told me ICV's and O2 sensors or mass airflow sensors, cause mine runs fine aswell!

my 95 325is does that exact same thing too! i was just gonna post something like this but didnt know how to explain it... thanks man!

My '94 325is 5 speed does the same thing too! I always run premium fuel and only have 106K. It seems like at about 4000rpm the power really kicks in. What years did they have the VANOS? What rpm does VANOS kick in?

same problem here. i think tomorrow i'm going to check the resistance on my coils and make sure i dont have any weak ones. i know i might need to change my spark plug connector because i might be losing spark if one of them is messed up. so if i were you i'd check the coils, plug connectors, and possibly your o2 sensors.

It can't hurt to clean out the injectors either. Just put a good gas additive in for a tank then again after a normal tank. I put in Bosch platinums and have no problems at all.

Must admit mine does the same just a quick lag before the power kicks in.
