Got a call mom was ill, I needed to go see her,
problem she is 500 miles away
a quick flight with no advanced purchace was about 400
So I looked at my 97 328 with 112k on her and said lets go high speed trip 1000 miles round trip+ 2.5 tanks of gas and 30.2 mpg ac blowing cold 100 deg outside
stereo blastin and lots of time to think I only stoped once each way for fuel and a leak (lol) but what a great trip
and moms better now.
now I know why people keep them so long

We've put over 4,000 miles on our '97 328 in less than a month. Most recent trips have been burning up the road between Houston and S.A. to visit the Wife's ailing Father. (see "impaled fuel tank" thread) .

Only complaint I have with the car is the seats could have better lumbar support.

I did a cannon ball run in my 95 318i with a couple hours notice from Jackson MS to St. Petersburg FL when I found out my Grandmother was going to die within a week or so. Left Jackson at 9:00 PM Friday night and was back Sunday morning at 1:30 am. Included about 5 hours in St. Pete, dinner break etc.. Had no problems, never thought twice that maybe I shouldn't take her with... prolly 15X,000 miles on her at the time.

i did jst over 2500 km in the space of a week i know thats a odd mesure to you all and prob not that far in comparison but its 3x the north island of n.z so its a long way here and i had no issues or worrys about it at all (that all happened the day after i got home ! so not happy if you think you could help me check out http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/3-s...der-60772.html )

nice to know and yes there great cars!i! get the e38 740iL seats if you want better lumbar support i love mine
