Smoother Ride

i live in an area with a lot of heavy coal trucks and they make a lot of bumpy roads full of potholes. i was just curious, im not planning on making any adjustments, so just for conversation's sake, what kind of stuff could i do to my car to give it a smoother ride going over bumps and stuff? just get better shocks and springs or what?

Get touring shocks, rather than sport. if you have a strut bar installed (which im sure you dont) remove it. You wont have the sporty BMW cornering and handling, but the ride will be nicer. If you really want comfort and smooth, buy a 5 or 7 series w/ touring packages.

Yes, scour the TireRack for some "comfortable" tires - tires can make all the difference in the world, and in most cases can end up being a lot cheaper than refitting your cars excellent suspension with something less sporty.

It could also be as basic as
a. Checking and adjusting tire pressure of ALL tires.
b. Getting new tires (your current tires may be worn).
c. Avoiding bumpy parts of the road :-)
