I was at the dealership yesterday, looking for the touchup paint for my skirt ('93 318is, Brillantrot-308), and the clerk looked and said it didn't show in their system. Huh? What code should this be, and how do I get the paint? I've a few red spots showing through on the skirts, and want to paint them out before the roads get salty.

Hey Man, I have a red 1992 318is that is also brilliant red or
(brillantrot). I went to the dealer as well to find touch-up paint and they said that BMW was changing paint manufactures in Germany and that it would be a couple of months. ghead

Actually MY skirts are all messed up now...cause I started to remove the grey but there was no paint under certain sections. I'm order my body paint from www.paintscratch.com for the bumpers and i'll prob do the sideskirts as well.
But..... used
Can I paint over the grey? or should I finish removing it and then paint over the paint and metal underneath?
just to let you know bmp design does make a refinishing kit for oxidized e36 side skirts. you can buy either grey or black. the whole process takes about an hour and looks pretty good. i think the kit was about 60 bucks with shipping. the kit came with a pretty good amount of the refinisher, a foam brush, an alcohol based cleaner, and an instructional video. i used the black kit on my black car to get rid of those ungly gray oxidized side skirts and now it looks great! well good luck...
