How should I open up that area in the trunk/back seat (behind the arm rest)? When I let down the arm rest, and pull down the leather cover thing, there is something still there. Do I just punch it out?

I am finally getting my sub once my sub box and amp gets here. I am hoping that it will lessen the muffle effect the back seats have on the sub. Is there anything else I should do?

Your ski hole isnt out? Will it even do very much if I do this?

I used to have a 92 325i and had this same problem. The only thing is, (on my car anyway) the plate didn't just punch out that easy, we had to use a torch to get it out. In which case you wanna make sure your trunk carpet is far away from where your cutting.

I took a hammer to mine...it popped out just fine...and it will allow a little more bass into the cabin, at least in my opinion it did. You shouldn't have to take a torch to it cause mine was only welded on lightly at a couple points. It probably isn't something you can just push out with your hand, as you do need some blunt quick force to break the welds...it stays pretty clean too and the leather flap just covers it right up
