WELL i can help you with the foglights, my cousin has a 1996 328 and he put the DEPO foglights ( they are clear glass W/ chrome housing) he bought them off E-Bay for i believe 85 dollars shipped.
Go to e-bay you will find good deals.!!!!
The regular ones that come on the cars are the ZKWs that the sell there and the crystal cut DEPO ones like Ssilverstar is talking about are on there for $60 for the set(ebay sucks sometimes, gotta watch it).
pod filter? call me stupid but i am not sure what you are talking about.
weight reductions - spare tire is a big one(and easy), removing rear seats, new lighter wheels, new front seats, not putting in subs and such
i havent got fog lights at all so i guess i'll need the whole kit, including the button on the dashboard! would the wireing already be in place or does everything have to be put in?
whts the difference in the fog lights that i can get? are they all the same or r some brighter than the others, or does everything depend on the bulb and everythin else is the same?

check his list out too, if you look at it the spare tire is the biggest difference in weight. Although I would not remove it as a permanent thing, you never need your spare until you really NEED it. Might as well remove the jack too. Although I am not sure how much you are going to see if you remove little things, if you want to see the difference it looks like you are going to have to do some major stuff like Autotechnica
For a couple hundred bucks on ebay, and a few other places that I can't think of right now, you can get a carbon fiber replacement for your sunroff, if you have one. That not only removes about 30 lbs, it also lowers your cars center of gravity, since that weight is as high on the car as possible.
