Simple Performance upgrades to a 93 318is?

I have a 93 BMW 318is with the M42 B18 engine, not totally sure what that means yet but I'm learning as I go. This car has a brand new performance clutch with the 5 speed manual transmission... I'm also putting Ceramic brakes with slotted rotors in because I like to be able to slow down when my buster goes off

The tires Ill be putting on in about a week or so here are BF Goodrich g-Force Sport 205/60R-15 91V Rated to 149mph and should stick pretty good on corners.

I just would like some information and some fairly simple performance upgrades I can do to either increase torque or hp... I have been keeping in mind maybe a turbo but I've never dealt with one before...

Any ideas???

Google, Ireland engineering, BMP motorsports, Downing Atlanta Supercharger, Dinan....

They will all sell you things to put on the car.

Turbo, google will be your best friend, read about every turbo swap anyone has ever done before you start and budget way over for it.

The DA supercharger would be a better bet, less hp in the end, but proven performance and you might be able to find a mechanic that has put on one before depending on where you live.

I had a 95 318i, it already had a chip and cai in it when I got it, so I put spring/shocks for handling. Would eventuall have done sway bars, but not much else.

Simple things are:

Chip, Exhaust, intake, suspension-the m42 is built fairly well and to get big gains out of it you have to throw money at it. Just keep the revs up (3500+) for maximum driving fun.

For more Hp/tq go look into a supercharger, I agree with thekid, the Downing atlanta I only hear good things about.

I also think the brake upgrades are probably a little on the overkill side unless you are tracking the car, a more agressive pad (hawk hps probably for street use) will probably accomplish what you want and you will spend less.

and Brembo discs. I have them, they aren't too expensive and they perform very well
