I was at Pepboys today and I picked up a pair of Sylvania Silverstars to try out. My low powered oem bulbs just weren't doing the trick, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $400-800 for HID lighting. These are said to be the closest to HIDs halogens will every get and they are much brighter than other aftermarket halogens. They burn at an impressive 4000k!
Have any of you guys or girls tried these out yet? Have you even herd of them? They're quite new to me.
I will install them tomorrow and let you all know what I think.

I actually found out the hard way that the Sylvania's are great. I first bought some crap bulbs from a local auto parts store for 15bucks and they actually looked good but made the light housing blue when OFF. Then I bought the Hella xenon white bulbs because Hella is such a good company. Well they sucked. Not even as good as the crap bulbs. Then I tried the Sylvania...very good. I plan on purchasing an HID kit and upgrading to real HID, but for now these are great!!!

A really good way to compare them with the stock bulbs, is to put a new bulb in one side and leave the factory one in the other, and turn your lights on at night....WORLD of difference!

Silver stars are good I've used them but wait till you put in HIDs holy S#@T!!! Do what I did, go to some body shops talk to some cheap labors not the boss you can get a set for cheap I got mine for $300 yes that's $300USD for 4 ballasts and 4 bulbs. Is worth the extra work.

What I want to know is why you have 4 ballasts. Are your fog lights HID's? You got a steal if you recieved 4 bulb kits for 300. Rediculous. I'm jealous.
I put the silverstars in for the high beams and they're sure as hell whiter, but don't give any additional coverage or brightness. I think they're great. The contrast is much better than before. I've had 'em for about 2 months.
