i have a 2 door, and im pretty sure this is one of those saftey features, but when i roll the window up, about half way up, it stops and goes back down, i have to press it like 30 times before it actually goes up all the way
its not really going to kill me, but its sort of irritating, has anyone had this problem?
ghead
gotta love the banging head

Are your windows automatic? I mean do they roll down with one quick push of the button? Mine do both up and down. Sometimes when I roll them up they will stop and go to what seems to be a preset level. It may be that your control for that level is not working properly, or lost its programming. That's what I would check first.
you are correct, the stoppage is a safety feature. it's supposed to stop when it encounters resistance (e.g., your 4-year old kid's head). with age it will (the motor, not the kid) start encountering resistance on its own, whether it be the window motor, or the track, or alignment.
you can also try resetting the window memory by pressing and holding down the button, and continue to hold it down for 10 seconds even after it is completely open. then press and hold the up button (to the second detent) until the window is completely closed, and hold it there 10 seconds.
