yes it will but why would you want to?

your 318 has a 3.91, a 328 has (i think) a 2.93, so basically your gonna loose overall performance because your making the gearing taller, that is unless your looking for a higher top speed instead of better acceleration.... what you probably want is a shorter ratio (most do) where you get a better acceleration through the gears , the only downfall is you lower your overall top speed.

THE E36 318'S CAME WITH EITHER A 3,45 OR 4.45, THEY ONLY CAME WITH TWO DIFFERENT CHOICES, i would like to upgrade to 3.91

Wow, look at those caps... lots of caps... Even though you are right I don't really want to say it. As I recall he needed a different drive shaft and axels. Apparently the rear subframe wasn't a problem like I though it would be. All the info is in a thread though.
