I'm considering my 325i repainted. For about $800, MAACO offers American OEM paints and minor body repairs. I'm thinking either silver or black. My top choice to stand out is Avus Blue, but it would be $1,800 (as import OEM color)! The dealer estimate is >$1,200 without body repairs. I may have to re-consider the color.

Can you show me pics of any Avus Blue Bimmer? (Any blue Bimmer is welcome.) I never saw one in person (in past year), that's why.

Don't do it at MAACO, the paintjobs they do around here peel after a couple years.

They tell you up front how long their paint jobs last. The Presidential is only good for five years.

Also, if your car isn't the color from the factory, don't paint it that color. It won't look good at all when you open the doors, hood, trunk, etc.

$180 extra for 4-door jambs at MAACO. Dunno if I can tolerate the white color or "hidden" areas of factory color.

If not MAACO, what paint shop do you suggest? I'm from Los Angeles. What's about the dealer? Is it any good? I'll ask them someday. That is my second question here.

Factory color is Alpine White. I bought the car when others were burgundy and green at that time.

Aren't you over by the House of Kolor? Try searching for their site. I normally hate crazy paint jobs, but they've got some very very nice paint there.

I suggest looking for independant body shops. They pay better than chains and generally hire people with skill.

MAACO blows... don't go that route you'll hate it. if you live in any kind of hot weather year around, your paint will peel guaranteed..

Don't do Macco. My friend had a bright green done, spent about $800 on a civic and they got paint on windows, on black trim under the hood, on the windshield wipers, all over the muffler, in the wheel wells, on the tires, and god knows who else. House of Kolor is a great idea. They may be a little more expensive, but well worth it. They have some sick colors. Read any car magazine. Many featured cars in Cali have gotten paint done at House of Kolor.
