Should I Buy? - BMW Forum

hey i was wondering if i should buy a 1994 325is. it has 118k on it and they want 7k for it. there does not apear to be anything mechanicaly wrong with it, but are there anyproblems specific to that year. if any know, how tight are the suspensions after that many miles. any advice would be helpful. thanks a bunch.

get a dealer inspection before you buy, but that sounds like a very reasonable price.

Just like above... I say get a dealer to inspect it... it might take a few bucks.. but it might also be worth your money in the long run... just think about it.. instead of buying a hunk of crap before you know it... its a nice thing to have...

it's funny when i bought my car, i have my friend, who is a mechanic, to go do an inspection for my car before i bought it... he says overall the car is in good condition...

next thing you know alot of problems started occuring... water pumps, thermostat, suspension, etc.

i think in most used cars that you buy it's always nice at first but then when you start driving it you begin to notice every little thing the car has...

Personally I think any used car will cost money. The reason I bought my beemer was beacuse I know the engine is guranteed. I have heavy miles on my 97 328i (140k>), and I have replaced many things on it, but at least I know the car won't die on me. I don't remember but I think some Mercedies are made to go over 300k, so I think The Germans are Solid.

Anyway the price seems ok, but not great. When I was shopping around I found many "high milage" beemers, and I ended up with a sweat bargain.

I recommend using "Auto Hunter" if your in New England, US
