shifter knob

I have tried everything except cutting the shifter boot or tearing the knob off. i have a ssk i want to put on but thats whats holding me back...there is probably a really simple answer, but im just too thick headed to see it ghead

Put it in second gear and pull as hard as you can straight up. Don't hit yourself.

ok now if feel like a real idiot how do you install the ssk.....this should be easy considering the other things ive done to the car

That depends, what does your kit look like? If it's just the lever, it's not too hard. If it's the whole kit including the linkages, you'll have a hard time. I'd pay someone to install it for me. You would definitely have to get under the car and get your arm over and ontop of the driveshaft.
