Shift Knob Problem - BMW Forum

Ok, so I know to remove the shift knob off of a 5-speed '94 325is, you just pull straight up really hard. So I have tried this many many times with no luck. I have opened the sunroof to stick my head out of to yank even harder! WTF? It won't budge! It's an aftermarket knob that came with the car. Has anyone ever head of people glueing these things on or any tricks to some aftermarket ones? I am about ready to get a hack saw! I have tried really HARD!

That note about not turning the knob always made me think. If I turn that dam knob really hard and break it, it will come right off?? Or would I be SOL for the new one?

they can be a pain in the ass to get off

youve check to make sure it doesnt have a locking ring and under the locking ring it doesnt have some sort of pins that hold it into place (like my aftermarket momo shift knob)

its possible someone crazy glued it on. I would try twisting if you have another one to replace it. If all else fails I would *carefully* hack saw that f'er off, goodluck
