I am wanting to shark my car but some people have told me that it is bad for the engine and will hurt my car long term. Does anyone know if thats true?

its only harmfull if you dont use the proper gas. other than that ive never heard of anyone having problems with it. however if your car is under warranty it will void the warranty.
i can really only see positive with sharking
yeah umm maybe becuase of the added hp you will drive your car harder and faster a lot which isnt always good for it, (or your gas mileage) but other than that i can see no problem with sharking your car! i say go for it! Now SHARTING isnt a good thing try to avoid that!
He just mispelled sharking.. .Sharking is reprogramming your computer chip to better balence the ratio between fuel and air. Giving better performance...
i did not misspell sharking i said SHARTING IS NOT A GOOD THING, which it is not! come on you guys have never sharted! you know where you fart and accidently shit a little bit! a shart! sharking=good, sharting=bad/gross!

actually if you were refering to the movie that it came from "Along Came Polly" they probably mean Sharding...like squeezing off shards of shit in your pants, which is really gross...sorry for the technicalities

I sharked my car and the ONLY difference I've noticed is it's...um...faster. No check engine lights, no obvious excessive wear.... I highly recommend it. It gives you a nice power boost for minimal investment.
Just to let you know...sharking is not worth it. Maybe it's different with my car (96' 328is), but I didn't really get any extra power. It took off my rev limiter and governor, but I got zero low end gains and minimal high end gains.

I'm on a 1997 328i and immediately after I sharked, I was feeling noticable gains. Could yours have been sharked already when you bought it by a previous owner?
Nope, not a chance. Besides, even if it was sharked before, I don't think it would let you do it. I think if it's already been sharked it doesn't let you shark it...or something...
