Anyone have a diagnosis for a 1998 328 with 98k miles....upon initial ignition the front of the car shakes a little then stops. Once the car is in motion, or upon starting for the rest of the day, it's fine!! Fuel filter??? Thanks!

Mine started doing that the other day too. It idled roughly and shook the car upon starting, but after driving down the block it was fine. However, now my car won't start at all - It'll only crank over once. I'm getting it looked at tommorow. Hopefully yours won't go the same way mine did.

As for the cause, I initially thought the spark plugs or ignition coils but I just changed them all last month.

My e46 had the same problem one day i turn it on and it just starts shaking i asked the shop i go to about it and they said could be carbon build up (due to the high miles 74k) and to use bg 44k advanced formula (you put in ur fuel tank and it cleans the carbon out) not to sure if i want to put that stuff in my car is it safe or it thats even the real problem...car hasnt shoke and still depating wether to put it in..and the e46 idle at start up seems high then once i start driving and stop for lights its fine i put up stuff i the e46 forum about it...the car is driveable but. my e36 shoke once but that was about 4 or 5 months ago and never did it again so..not to sure if that helps just wanted to say whats happened to me. later Ben
