Possible. However, last i talked to shahid, at least half on the options he gave, including a relatively decent(READ: needs paint real bad) 2dr 5 spd, were all around 2.5K
And remember, i was solid e30 man...no experience w/ e36 besides riding in teh drz's.

are you serious? I really don't see any e36 going for anything near that with under 100,000 no matter how awful the paint is.... but good luck with you search and you'll be happy with your switch, just do the proper check list before you purchase or you could be paying major $$$
