How can I reset the service indicator after changing my oil? bmw316i 1995 model..

Husks,

To do it safely.. you can buy the reset tools on eBay.

I did it the unsafe way last time.. paper clip and strobing two connectors on the OBD plug for a period to make it go away. Mind you.. you can do serious damage this way.. so go ebay!

the paper clip works fine pin 7 and 19 all you do is turn key to position II open diagnostic port push clip in pin 7 and 19 hold it there 4 secs all the scan tool is the same thing its easy and it works

I have been using a device made from this link, ( e36_reset_service_lights). for years with no problems at all.

I tried that too and it didn't seem to work either, my Peake tool should take care of that next time.
