hahaha.. i like the way you say it.. "do some launches with that biattch"..
its from my friend actually.. he installed it in his E30 318 M40B18.. but he had a problem... the bass note is too deep and uncomfortable to the person sitting inside the car.. that couldnt be as the noise is not really loud from the outside..
some say its because of the centre box.. its restricting the air flow in the middle and therefore causing the noise to be built up in the middle..

hmm..its a 1day old mufler, so i guess it cant be gone.
I jus got my sebring installed.. and the noise is not as bad as my friend's E30.. but the bassy deep note heard from inside the cabin is still quite obvious..
I have a Borla DTM exhust...it is loud and rude.... I love it. It s on the verge of being to noisey, except at speed it is almost silent. It only gets loud upon accell and decell--eration. I say install it and raise three kinds of hell!! (damn i sound like a redneck)
have not tried the launch with my sebring yet.. (having my gf in the car most of time, do not dare to rev too much)
one thing i realised,
the very uncomfortable bassy note only comes at 2,000rpm - 3000rpm.. after 3k rpm, the bassy noise is gone..
Spoke to a friend who drives an Alfa 156 and he says its my centre muffler which is not suitable for me back sebring muffler. I need a longer and bigger centre muffler to "sort of" filter the noise..
I got the TSE2 from UUC has the bass note at 1200-2000k rpm then nothing at fifty+...I gave it a week, bassy note died down now has that deep and aggressive sound....not annoying at all I really like it. I had the stock M3 exhuast very nice but too quiet. My point is let it sit/break in. You stated this is like new...I'm sure it'll die down alittle but don't expect it to be gone or quiet. Better deep notes instead of harsh raspy fartcannon or coffee cans.
eggrolled,
the bassy note you mentioned.. is it very audible from inside the cabin???.. its quite deep and loud till i feel uncomfortable that i felt like puking.. (yes, its that bad)..
YEp, the sebring is new.. just two days old..
by the way, eggrolled, what centre muffler are u using?
break" yes bassy note was very audible in the cabin just for few secs though at low rpms...BUT not as loud as to make my head hurt or make me puke. If you checkout UUC TSE2 checkout the FAQs my description almost exactly like theirs. I'm pretty happy with it. After about 5 to 7 days it died down, sound kindly like a Saleen/boss mustang MEAN and aggressive, audible but no droning in the cabin...give it a week. Also to note Sebring I've seen these on many hondas acuras etc. They ARE pretty loud in the cabin and outside...I dunno if they put that much reasearch and developement on ie...BMWs. Remember mine is a inline 6 yours is a 4cycl. right. Those make a big difference. If it don't quiet down, can't you modify a silence to the tips?....(what is centre muffler?)
When my ACS exhaust rusted out, I had both of my cats removed, and new pipe ran from my cats back to a Ractive DTM twin canister style muffler....It was too loud, so I got two of their high flow resonators and it quieted the exhaust down some...Damn it sounds mean!
