HEy
YOu should check Ebay for sellers and check ur local car upholstery maker, i would say find used seat covers in good condition, that way you will have the original fit and will look original.

Thanks... I've found some on Ebay that sell the standard 325 seat covers but mine has the sport seats with the pull-out thigh rest. These are harder to find.

There are a couple of places I have found:

http://www.leatherseats.com
http://www.worlduph.com/bmw7.htm

Anybody else? I know that Delmarco put leather in his car. I don't remember where he got it from, though.

I would start at a local upholsterly shop. Ask around at the autobody shops for who they send their uphosterly work too. You can usually find an independent shop that will make new seat covers for your pretty fair money wise.

My neighbor has a late 90's 740I and he just had his front seats redone. After he had them done he had me look at it and I couldnt believe how good it looked ,he explained it wasnt leather that it was Vinyl but an imitation leather. This stuff looked like 100% brand new leather the best part was he said why he decided to go with it was because it didnt mess up or wear like leather and it didnt have the leather price tag either $$$$$$$$$. Just a thought unless you know someone who is going to sniff your seat for that New leather smell ..... it may be a thought .... any shop that does work would know what your talking about.

www.pelicaparts.com sells what they call new leather upholstery kits for the E36. However, they don't have pictures, so I don't know if they are seat covers, or replacement leather to somehow exhange what came stock.

Delmarco replaced his entire interior with leather seats (OEM, off an E36 -- used, but looked like new) he got on eBay for a very good price. I cannot remember how much, but he got a great deal.

YOu may also try to restore it yourself. Many people have done that using kits from www.leatherique.com. This is absolutely the best stuff short of taking it to a professional shop.

You can also take it to a shop and ask to have them restore your leather instead of reupholstering it.
