Scary Moment

So my water pump has been on the fritz and I am waiting for the new one. But unfortunately my girlfriend has been in and out of the hospital. I don't like taking my other cars on long trips. But i have no good reason. So I jumped in the 318 and went up to where she lives. It's only 250 miles. This morning I went to run a few errands while I was here and I went to put coolant in the car today and I was distracted by something while doing it. Well i was driving and the temp needle shot up. I freaked out because I don't have time to wait for the part to show up here. I have to leave tommorow night.

Luckily, while distracted, my dumbass forgot to put the radiator cap on. And that is all the problem was.

Whoops. The finish was vague.

The coolant boiled out because of no cap. So I put the cap back on it and BAM! Problem solved. I am still waiting for the part back in my hometown. Should be there when I get back.

lol, i kinda figured that was the end of the story , however just keep a good eye on the temp gauge untill the new pump arrives.

Oh you forgot to put your crp back on haha. I almost came close to that once or twice...or twelve times that ive ended up pissed off at my cooling system...

(and one of the shops I go to usually gets the part within 6 hours (OEM part)....I think you need to find a new shop.
