I took out my hood insulation....was wondering if I should put it out.....don't want it to heat up and ruin my paint....but is it ok to leave it off....I was bored so i took it off....i like it with it off.....

It's only there for sound deadening. It won't hurt anything.

You might call the dealer and ask them. I would love it if I could take mine out but car has a warranty so no dice. I like the engine sound very much and have no problem with it being louder.

Taking of the inner hood liner will adventually effect the paint on the hood. It was placed there for a reason. As a sound deadner and heat shield. The company I work for specializes in sound deadning and heat reflection.
Have you heard of dynamat. We carry a product called hood liner. This product has a heat reflectant shield along with an acoustical foam. I have witnessed several engine fires that have not affected the paint, due to the hood liner. Check out the website: www.dynamat.com
id just play it safe, or put the insulation stuff on

its there to reduce heat...my friend with a turbo awd eclipse cracked his paint on his hood above his turbo...so unless you want to get a cf hood soon i would advise you to put it back on
