S52 Swap

Just completed a complete drivetrain swap - '99 M3 into a '97 328is. was relatively plug and play but now it won't start. It turns over, it does have spark because if you pour fuel into the intake it will fire but seems to not be getting fuel at the cylinders on cranking. The fuel pump works as I get fuel thru the filter
Are there differences between the fuel regular at the filter or the little plug in bit just before the intake that may be causing issues at the intake? I marker the hoses as to which came from the fule filter and which the other side of the regulator - if you revers these oes it cause fuel delivery failure

I had a simular(sp) problem with an engine swap in my 89 325i. Crank, no start. prime engine with fuel, start, then quit. Eventually it ran on its own, and now is reliable. I wondered if the fuel rail developed an air lock as fuel in and fuel out are on the same end of the rail. Sometimes it started (middle of Colorado winter) on the cold start injector but would not run for long. I just kept trying,and eventually ith car started. Jetsam

Interesting; I think there may be a bleed screw on the rail so will try that to unlock the fuel system. Will let you know
