S50 Cams In M50 - BMW Forum

I have an opportunity to pick up a set of used S50 cams for a few hundred. I know I will need the upgraded conforti chip, but is there anything else I would need to complete the swap?

I want the S50 engint swap, but for like $250 I could get just the cams.. I talked to a few shops tho and they said it would be assinine to do just the cams. So i am now discouraged from doing this.. Besides I test drove a 2000 328CI last night and I swear my 93 325i is quite faster.. So I should be happy right!?...I think I'll try some pullies next instead.

pullies suck...the cams will put your car at about 200+bhp

well usually the e46's feel slower because their heavier and more smog equipment and their mostly auto's

oh and you wouldnt need anything else for the swap...but you might as well replace the valve cover gaskets while your at it since you got the valve cover off

yep. the valve gaskets are very common problem on e36 six cylinders.
