S/c Vs. 6cyl

Hey.. its me again, zack.

today i was told that the 6 cylinder engines in the 325 and 328 e36's are perfect match to the engine compartment of my 96 318is.

my previous understanding was that the motor mounts are different and that custom fabrication would be required for the engine to fit.

if you wouldnt mind clarifing this for me i would appreciate it...

furthermore, since the begining i wanted to S/C my m44... but now i cant decide... how do i weigh the CHEAPER motor swap the DASC S/C??

If your changing to a six cylinder won't you need to change your driveshaft and other stuff?

you'll need to change your rear end I know. also tranny too

What you will need besides engine, ecu, tranny wireing harness and all those other regular things is the following: Rear Subframe from any 6cly BMW of your same body style ie I or IS, Drivshaft and diff (keep in mind you could use any 6cly diff depending on what ratio you want).
