So i was out driving the other day when i noticed a loud rubbing noise coming from my car when i was making a u-turn. Any ideas on what exactly is producing the noiseused:Could this be an alignment issue? or something more serious?
Yes, more info please. I get rubbing on my car, but it is due only to the fact that the wheel well plastic has come lose, so it rubs against the tire during turns. That is really not a worry for me.

well i drive a 95 325is..got it a few months ago..ne way, i think the rubbing is coming from somewhere near the tires. I've been told that i need an alignment but i'm not sure if that is the source of the noise..(i'm getting one anyway)..i hope it has at least something to do with it..the noise however, is only audible during severe turns..(ie u turns)??
An alignment would be the first step if it sounds like it is the tire. Is the car lowered? What size tires do you have? My car is lowered and I had 205/60/15 sized tires and the right one would rub but no tthe left, due to the space for a battery up front (makes a little corner in the wheel well that the tire likes to rub on).
Mine rubs too. Large tires can do this (esp. if you have sport wheels that are wider than just regular stock tires) and it's exacerbated when the wheel well plastic comes loose.
