Rolled Fenders, Different Offset, Is This Ok?

I recently bought a set of 18" Breyton Imagines for my car but the offset on them is 13mm, not the required 42mm. Tirerack.com and some other places recommended that I roll my fenders to get some more clearance, but will driving on tires that are the wrong offset create some wierd geometry and/or effect tire life and handling/turning? I wouldn't think so, because the only difference will be a wider stance for my car, but Im no expert on the subject. Please help me.

yes, you will wear out your wheel bearings quicker since the forces exerted by the wheel will not be in the designed area. You shouldn't notice too much difference in handling, maybe just slightly harder steering. I have a slightly increased offset on my car and I rolled the fenders, but I did not jump as much as your did. If the wheels look good I would just keep them and roll the fenders. Wheel bearing are easy to change. I can do fron two wheels in under 2 hours
