i got my 1993 325i about a year ago and ever since, i have had road noise, but its louder in the rear end. The tires are in good shape and the rims are in amazing shape as well. I feel no vibrations or anything out of the ordinary, but when i get up to about 75-80mph its pretty loud. does anybody have any clue to what could be doing this??? could it be the quality of the tires...im pulling ideas out of my ass...any idea would be nice
is that a huge deal??? my wheels aren't going to fall off are they? i had a honda back in the day and i had to replace the wheel barring, would it be a similar install?
^^^ Kinda similar, but first you have to distinguish wether its a bearing noise or a tire noise. Do you hear it particurely on one side of the vehicle? if you had that problem with the honda the sounds should be similar, (humming noise).
could be the type of tire you are using, some cheap tires make a lot more road noise then others.
depending on how bad the wheel berring is (if its that at all) then it could get serious.
i had a situation although it was a long drive the idea is the same. i was driving from NY to cali and my left berring seized on me and caught fire, stoped and replaced it and kept going, later a few hours later the right berring seized and caught fire

their michelin's....never had any but by the look on the tread (pattern) they seem like some good tires.
actually i didnt look BUT i did put air in my tires the other day and my drivers side rear was REALLY low.....ill take a look tomorrow when theres some daylight
